Dr. C. Anantaram specializes in application of Artificial Intelligence techniques to real-world systems and his areas of expertise include knowledge representation, reasoning, trustworthy AI systems, and integrating AI techniques in business applications. 

He is also an active member of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC42 Artificial intelligence committee, that is formulating standards in the field of AI, and also is an active member of BIS LITD30 that focuses on both international and national standards in AI. He has published over 40 papers and holds many patents. He was a Visiting Faculty at IIIT Delhi and prior to that a Principal Scientist in the R&D division of Tata Consultancy Services Limited.
